“Interaction design” David Hogue
There are five essential principles of Interaction Design.
This stage will show people visual signals and cues. Also, the content and interaction need to be accessible. The part of physical products is must be a necessary for target audience. Button is not affordance. A good design can avoid people waste more time on web page. Such as It is nice that webpage (fig.1) I think it is a good example to explain this principle. In the home page, the recent art work is attractive and clear. Besides that, between the art work image and logo, the different types of art works in the catalogue. Also, social media icons on the right corner is striking, it reminds you they also have those social media felid. However, it also will be ignore. So, a web page or app page, that will be have a lot of different types and typographic hierarchy. A good design will distinguish which point will attracted.
The perceive is prior experience, it also will be ignore. In this stage, the confidence will become an important elements. It will let people visit the webpage effectively. Such as UNIQLO (fig.2), when I search this brand on Google, this brand will show an advance search page, this will make me confidence to continue shopping.
This is a request in process. De-activated is a problem in feedback. Such as customer queue service. People will wait for long time and sometimes there won’t have anyone to service. This example (fig. 3) is a communication between customer and customer service. They cannot solve the problem and they also blame the problem on someone else.
In this process, every website, app all have a course for first user. It is a good and necessary process for user. However, it also have some confuse function maybe hided because the first user learn the course just learn basic function. For example, I have a function on my phone I think I always confuse about that (see fig. 4), this is a zoom in function, I don’t really understand about this function, sometimes it is good, but sometimes, it always delay me a lot of things at the critical time.
It is easily to understand that people will have memory to know how to use it in next time such as size chart (fig.5). People will know when they don’t know what size is suitable for themselves. They can use this function. In every shop website, if have they will remember and use it.
